The state's engineering ecosystem delivers over $40 billion in annual capital goods production and contributes significantly to India's output of general and special-purpose machinery as well as heavy electrical equipment.
With heavy engineering exports of $16.8 billion in FY24, Tamil Nadu hosts 100+ companies engaged in precision and hi-tech manufacturing across the capital goods, automotive, and electronics sectors. Key clusters in Chennai–Tiruvallur, Coimbatore, Hosur–Krishnagiri, and Tiruchirappalli anchor sophisticated value chains spanning pumps, valves, motors, fasteners, and industrial machinery—supported by world-class infrastructure, deep engineering talent, and seamless port connectivity.
